What makes this different: Oncology massage is not about “going deep.” It is about adapting the session to you. Adjustments may include pressure, positioning, pace, and avoiding sensitive or medically affected areas. Many reputable sources advise avoiding very deep massage during cancer treatment and using gentler approaches.

What to expect: A brief, respectful intake to understand your comfort level and any considerations. Gentle techniques with a calm pace and frequent check-ins. Thoughtful positioning and bolstering for ease. A session plan designed around how you feel that day. Optional after-session guidance for comfort and hydration.

Safety and screening: To keep sessions comfortable and appropriate, we may ask about recent surgeries, ports or medical devices, radiation sites, current symptoms, and any clinician guidance you’ve been given. If needed, we may request written clearance or suggest an alternate approach. For client safety, it’s recommended that massage for those affected by cancer be provided by therapists with oncology-specific education.
